We offer our guests a variety of services to make your time on Stewart Island even more enjoyable.

• Complementary transfers from plane and ferry on arrival and departure on the Island and also to and from "Sails" Guided Walks & Tours

• And if after enjoying our "Sails" Ulva Island Walk you would like a second (or 3rd or 4th) trip to Ulva, you are welcome to hitch a lift with us if we are going. NO CHARGE ! but you will have to keep to our timetable. The three or four hours we are normally there will allow you lots of time to walk all Ulva Islands 5k of tracks.

• Normally we have a two person minimum numbers requirement for our Ulva walks. However if you're a single staying at either Kowhai Lane or Sails Ashore we waive this requirement.

• On arrival an introductory "mini tour" around the village, pointing out businesses and places of interest so you can get your bearings

• When you arrive for Kowhai Lane and want to stop at the local shop for any provisions we are happy to wait.

• We will give you a complimentary Dept of Conservation (DoC) local walks pamphlet plus a village and environs map and discuss the best options with you.  .... example....

• We also give you a 7 day weather map which will help you plan your activities around our sometimes changeable weather.

• Unless advised otherwise when you book we will have made a first night dinner reservation at one of our excellent restaurants. This can be very important as they can be often booked out.

• We are happy to make a Kiwi Watch booking for you when you first book. If you really want to see Kiwi in the wild Stewart Island is the place to be. But very early booking is essential. You will pay the operator directly on the night. We do not take commissions.

• And we can also book a fishing trip for you. These trips are also a great way for birders to view our pelagic birds.

• We do also offer charters aboard Talisker at a flat vessel rate of $250 per hour, for up to 8 guests. On these we can view pelagic birds, seals (we have a DoC mammal watch permit) as well as scenic exploration.

• Dining In .......And we are also delighted to introduce Annette who has recently started offering Gourmet "Dine Inn" meals. These need to be ordered of course and the more forward notice the better.  Annette will come in and prepare breakfast or an intimate evening dining experience just for you. We have included below a proposal from her for a family at Kowhai Lane to give you some idea of just what she offers.
