Tours for Cruise Ship Visitors
Cruise Ships
Cruise Ship Visitors to Stewart Island are
generally offered a range of activities by the ship while here.
Included is usually a Guided Ulva Island walk, generally with a
local guide. While I have been part of this in the past I no
longer am prepared to be involved, as each tour was limited to 1
hour, and I would have sometimes 15 or 20 guests in each party.
So we galloped around..... very once over lightly tours......
and the party size meant that half the folks at the back of the
group really only got to go for a walk. Not what we like our
guests to experience at all !!
So Iris & I have decided to offer our two tours
specifically taylored to suit cruise ship visitors.
Both will include pick up and return to whatever wharf
your ship is using.
Party size will be limited to 6 or maybe 8 guests if travelling
as a group, and the tour will take around 4 hours, allowing us
to leisurely
explore Ulva.
The hardened trail is very easy. Tariff is $144 per guest,
minimum of 2 in the party. Normally we see passengers coming
ashore from 0800 and we would look at starting the walk at this
time.
For the complete "Island Experience" adding our
"Sails" Island Life
after lunch will round out your time on Stewart Island. This
takes around two hours, and if required we can stop at Just Cafe
for a delicious "Lunch to Go". Best if this was pre-organised.
Party size is limited to 6 guests, and the tariff is a flat
$60, minimum of 2 guests.
These two tours offer a unique opportunity for Cruise Ship
passengers to discover both the natural and the peoples story
of magical of Stewart Island. Your guides Iris & Peter have
between them over 75 years of Island life and experience.
