Red Billed Gull

Chroicocephalus scopulinus
(formally Larus novaehollandiae scopulinus)
Very common around coastal New Zealand and we always see
them on Sydney Cove, often feeding with White Fronted Terns.
Later in the summer there always seem to be juveniles
begging food from parents. Juveniles have a brown beak,
and brown flecks in the wing feathers
